Ash Wednesday is on Wednesday, February 18. Again this year, I will be offering “Songs for Lent,” daily reflections on a psalm verse or verses from the lectionary, enhanced with images and music, a link to the readings, and a prayer. These are sent to participants every day via email. (There is no cost or obligation, and your email address is not shared.)
In recent years I have focused my Lenten reflections on the psalms — because they are such a powerful form of prayer, because in their deep humanity they bridge denominations and religions, and because they lend themselves so beautifully to music. Joyful and wailing, angry and grateful, they encompass the wide range of emotional and spiritual expression that we share as human beings.
